It looked like, one day Google Glass, the head-mounted device would be seen as any other standard device as popular as today’s smartphone. Though, it didn’t appeal to all consumers alike, plastic surgeons and cops were the most benefited from it. However, it soon faded out and there wasn’t much to talk about it. The last time there was any news about it was the special Enterprise Edition, which was distributed covertly to the enterprise users. But now, an eBay listing seems to be the latest version carrying a price tag of $2600.
Just have a glance at the smartwatch and you will realize that the technology is still taking initial steps. Though there were other companies like Samsung and Apple who had their own thoughts on beautifying our wrists, Google was in a zone of its own. It would indeed be too premature to term the listing on eBay as the rebirth of Google Glass and even considering the fact that Google now doesn’t sell its first edition of the wearable.
There was never really that big an excitement from Google with the Enterprise Edition. As seen with the FCC filing in 2015, there are two tweaks in designing over the previous standard model. You will see a hinge system so it helps coping with the rigorous activities of working in healthcare environment. To add to it, the device has been made waterproof. A camera has also been put in use that shines the shooter is being used.
The device runs on Intel Atom processor and is made better wireless due to the Wi-Fi band. There’s also improved heat management in place thanks to this chip. And there are talks that Google has worked to improve the battery life as well.
We still have to wait to see if Google will take back the Project Glass from here on considering it hasn’t been touched for more than one year now.
