Android 22 Mar
Verizon Wireless has just explained that the latest update's changelog was not correct, as it not includes the iOS support yet. As Samsung recently revealed, Apple's compatibility will be released by the end of March.
A couple of days ago, it was reported that Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch would get iOS support by the end of this month. And the waiting period has finally got over as Verizon has become the first US carrier to add support for the Gear S2 on iOS. The announcement about the support was made along with the release of a new update for the watch.
The update carries the version number R730VVRU1BPC1 and brings Gear S2 smartwatch for devices running on iOS 8.4 or higher. As Verizon has released the update with support, you can expect the same from other carriers in near future. The size of the update has not been revealed but it has been advised to connect to WiFi for downloading the same.
Other than this, Verizon has made the smartwatch compatible with devices running Android Marshmallow. The changelog also mentions the inclusion of fix for random clock freeze issue. While Verizon has already started the rollout of the update, it can take time for it to reach your particular device.
