Una Inc has unveiled the UnaPhone Zenith smartphone that offers the best in security and privacy to users. The device is so secure that it won't let users install any third party apps. UnaPhone Zenith campaign has been launched on crowd funding site Indiegogo for a discounted price of USD $429 and will sell at a retail price of $529. The company will begin shipping the device in September 2016.
The Zenith phone runs on the company's proprietary UNA OS based on Android 6.0 and is being touted as the genuinely secure smartphone suitable for all users. The company has developed the phone in partnership with Elephone and Tutanota one of the best email providers in China and security communication suite Callprotector.
Una has pre-installed secure applications that allow uses to make and receive phone calls, send text messages, transfer files, have chat conversations and send emails without comprising their privacy or security, since they are all protected and fully encrypted. The company has added a suite of over 40 hand-picked and tested apps, that comes with key that has to pass a check between restarts and its communication apps feature end-to-end encryption as well.
Unaphone understands that some customers may not be happy with the limited apps, so they are asking customers if they would like any more apps available to them and will accordingly send out updates. UnaPhone may also introduce a secondary OS that will allow users to install secure applications from the company’s in built app store.
The company says: We all experience invasion of our privacy, data mining and exploitation of our habits and behaviors as a result of being overly exposed to companies and organizations behind the apps and devices that we all use. So if you’re looking for a way to make sure your personal information remains personal and your data, conversations and activity stay private, then we are here for you.
