Moto Turbo (XT 1225) gets Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update in India

21 July 2016 4

The Motorola Moto Turbo (XT 1225) (also known as Moto Maxx) has been in the queue of Android Marshmallow for a long time since it launched back in 2014 as a Motorola flagship. Many other devices like the Moto Gs were given a more favorable treatment by the company due to popularity. But today is day when the Moto Turbo (not to be confused with the Moto G Turbo) users get to experience the Marshmallow update on their device. Though the next version of Android – Android N (Nougat) will be available in a span of two-three months when the next Nexus devices will be launched. The Moto Turbo users have to be satisfied with Android 6.0.1 till then. Plus, it’s really good to see that the company hasn’t forgotten about the phone and still providing updates.

The update takes the phone to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and brings back features like the Doze mode, granular permissions and Google Now on tap. It also brings out new Google security updates to the phone.

The update weighs around 966 MB, and it is wise to update the phone over a Wi-Fi network. The update sequence is not the end-of-the-road and might get few other updates as well, or Moto might even consider providing an Android N update after its release. Well, we’ll just have to wait and watch. We’ll keep you posted about other updates. So stay connected.

The Motorola Moto Maxx isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
