But since the rise of Instagram and people getting a fever of taking selfies, the OEMs have started to pay attention to their phones' front camera as well. This is the reason we have started to see phones with high front camera resolution in the market including the phones which were launched with the focus on selfie lovers.

So, we decided to compile a list of 10 smartphones with highest front camera resolution. But do remember that camera resolution is just one of the many different aspects which decide the overall camera quality of a smartphone. So without any further ado, let's get started.

1. Sony Xperia XA Ultra:


The Sony Xperia XA Ultra is one of the members of Sony's flagship series for the year. The phone features a 16MP front shooter with Sony's own Exmos R sensor along with auto focus, wide-angle lens, optical image stabilization, and LED flash.

The other specs of the Xperia XA Ultra include a big 6-inch Full HD display with Helio P10 chipset and 3GB RAM. On the back, there is a 21.5MP shooter with LED flash and PDAF. The phone has a 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB). It is powered by a 2700mAh battery and ships with Android Marshmallow v6.0. There is also a dual-SIM variant of the phone.

2. Oppo F1 Plus:


The Oppo F1 Plus is a smartphone which has been touted by Oppo as the "selfie expert". And to back up the claim, the phone comes with 16MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture.

Other than this, the phone sports a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display. There is Helio P10 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB). On the back, it has a 13MP shooter with PDAF and LED flash. The whole package is powered by a 2850mAh battery and runs on Android Lollipop v5.1.

3. Oppo R9 Plus:


The Oppo R9 Plus smartphone features 16MP camera both at the back and front with f/2.0 aperture. But with the rear camera, you get additional features like LED flash and phase detection autofocus.

The rest of the specs include a 6-inch Full HD display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset and 4GB RAM. You get to choose from 64GB/128GB internal storage options which are expandable up to 256GB. It has a 4120mAh battery and runs on Android Lollipop v5.1.

4. Oppo F1s:


The Oppo F1s is the last smartphone in this list with a 16MP front shooter. It has been launched recently and is the newest member of Oppo's "Selfie expert" F-series. The front camera of the phone has f/2.0 aperture and 1/3.1-inch sensor.

As for the remaining spec sheet, the F1s has a 5.5-inch HD display with MediaTek 6750 SoC and 3GB RAM. The phone has a 13MP rear shooter with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash. It is available only in 32GB storage model with expansion up to 256GB. The phone is powered by a 3075mAh battery and runs on Android Lollipop v5.1.

5. Asus ZenFone Selfie:


The Asus ZenFone Selfie is one of the many smartphones launched by Asus last year under ZenFone series and as the name suggests, it is aimed at selfie lovers. The phone has a 13MP front shooter with f/2.2 aperture, autofocus, and dual tone dual LED flash. On the back, there is also a 13MP shooter but with f/2.0 aperture, laser autofocus, and dual tone dual LED flash.

Apart from the camera configuration, you will get a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC. It is available in two variants with 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB configurations. It has a 3000mAh battery and ships with Android Lollipop v5.0 but is upgradable to Marshmallow v6.0.

6. Sony Xperia X:


The Sony Xperia X has a 13MP front shooter with 1/3-inch sensor size and f/2.0 aperture. On the back, there is a 23MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash.

The phone has a 5-inch Full HD display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset and 3GB RAM. It is available in 32GB and 64GB storage options with an option to expand further up to 256GB. There is a 2620mAh battery and ships with Android Marshmallow v6.0.1.

7. Sony Xperia M5:


With the Sony Xperia M5, you will get a 13MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture and autofocus. On the back, there is a 21.2MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash.

It sports a 5-inch Full HD display with Helio X10 chipset and 3GB RAM. The phone offers 16GB internal storage expandable up to 256GB with a 2600mAh battery. It runs on Android Lollipop v5.0.1 but is upgradable to Marshmallow v6.0.1. There is also a dual-SIM variant of the phone.

8. Sony Xperia C5 Ultra:


The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra features a 13MP shooter on both the front and the back. The front camera has a f/2.2 aperture, autofocus, and LED flash while for the back camera, it has a f/2.0 aperture.

The screen size of the phone is pretty big at 6-inches with 1080p resolution. Under the hood, it has a MediaTek MT6752 chipset coupled with 2GB RAM. You will get 16GB of internal storage with expansion support up to 256GB. It has a 2930mAh battery and ships with Android Lollipop v5.0 but is upgradable to Lollipop v5.1. There is also a dual-SIM variant.

9. HTC Desire 826:


The HTC Desire 826 boasts of a 13MP front camera. There is also a 13MP rear shooter with autofocus and LED flash.

The phone has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset and 2GB RAM. It offers 16GB of internal storage and expansion up to 256GB. It is powered by a 2600mAh battery and ships with Android Lollipop v5.0.1 but is upgradable to Marshmallow v6.0.1.

10. HTC One E9 Plus:


The HTC One E9 Plus is the only smartphone in this list with a dual front camera setup. It has a 13MP front shooter along with another 4MP shooter and both the sensors have f/2.0 aperture. The primary camera of the phone is of 20MP with f/2.2 aperture, autofocus, and LED flash.

The phone has a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with Helio X10 chipset and 3GB RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB. The whole package is powered by a 2800mAh battery and ships with Android Lollipop v5.0 which can be upgraded to Marshmallow v6.0.
