UPDATE - August 19, 2016

Three days after launching the Cool1 smartphone from Coolpad and LeECO, pre-orders for the phone are open at Oppomart.com. The phone is available in two models, the one with 3GB RAM & 32GB internal memory is priced at $219 (1457 Yuan), while the 4GB RAM & 32GB internal memory comes with a price tag of $299 (1989 Yuan). The phone is available in two colour options Gold and Silver.

Coolpad and LeEco have just launched their first ever collaborative smartphone, Cool1. The device is packed with some powerful specifications with an affordable price.

The flagship device features a 5.5-inch 1080p display and comes with three memory variants. It is powered by Snapdragon 652 octa-core chip clocked at 1.8GHz. It is made up of magnesium alloy along with anodic oxidization, CCD precision machining, CNC edge processing, which turns it to be a premium metal body.

When we consider the looks, it’s quite similar to the LeEco’s earlier offers in the market. There’s a dual speakers alongside a USB Type-C port and a microphone opening. Whereas, the back of the device displays the dual camera with a fingerprint ID sensor. Coming to the dimensions part, the Cool1 has a 152 x 74.8 x 8.2mm and it weighs 173 grams. There’s a whopping 4060mAh battery that backs the phone which apparently can also be used for reverse charging through a USB Type C-port. Sadly the device lacks a NFC.

As per the company, the module that is used in this device takes use of second generation dual camera technology, that is Dual Camera 2.0. With this new generation dual camera technology, Cool1 packs one black and white camera sensor and another colour sensor, which helps to take better pictures. By using this technology, the phone can improve the overall picture clarity by 20 per cent, reduce noise by 8 per cent, and increase brightness by 20 per cent, which makes it perfect to take low light clicks. The module offers a 6P Lens, standalone black and white mode, and filter support. There’s an 8MP camera on the front of the phone.

With three storage variant, the price range differs with each one of them. The price for 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM model begins at 1099 Yuan ($167), while the 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM model will be priced at 1499 Yuan ($226) and finally, the 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM version will cost you 1699 Yuan ($256).

A Huachen special edition model is also available for consumers with only 2000 units.

The device has been made available for reservations from today onwards and retailing will start from August 24th at 10 AM at Coolpad’s online store, JD.com and Lemall.
