At IFA 2016, Berlin Sony announced two new smartphone devices Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact. Sony has released a new promo video for the new phones, showing their photo taking capability. The video showcases fast moving scenes from day to day life and capability of the new phones to ‘take photos without blur’. The video is titled ‘wow for now’ and aptly so as both the phones come with phase detection autofocus. The Xperia XZ comes with a 5.2” IPS LCD with 1920 x 1080p resolution, and has 3GB RAM with options of 32GB and 64GB for internal memory, the phone also supports microSD Card up to 256GB. The phone comes with Snapdragon 820 processor, running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, with the phone planned to be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat at a later date.
The Xperia X Compact sports a smaller 4.6” IPS LCD with 1280 x 720p resolution, runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Similar to Xperia XZ, the Xperia X Compact runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Android 7.0 Nougat update coming later.
