This year one of the key features of nearly all flagships were their water resistance capabilities. A surprising report pop up when we Consumer Reports stated Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is not a water resistant device. As we all know Samsung’s Active variants are usually more rugged than normal variant and this year standard variant is also water resistance. So it was quite surprising to see such reports.
On the other hand, Google mentioned that their new Pixel smartphones are not completely water resistant but instead it can survive water shower easily but a recent water test proof device survived nearly 1 hour in the bowl of water and the only damaged portion was its speakers. So water resistance is the new thing for techies. Today we have water resistance test of another water resistant device HP Elite X3.
The HP Elite X3 is announced as IP67 certified device which means the device is completely protected against dust and can resist water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. The guys behind Windowsteca performed the water resistance test of Elite X3 and it’s only the one of its kind test of X3 available online.
During the test, the touchscreen becomes inoperable but the device survived the test as advertised. Though its great device performed what it is advertised but still it didn’t outperform any disclaimers.
