09 November 2016 0

Sony has released its Concept for Android software that brings Android Nougat to Xperia X users in Europe.

Sony had announced the Concept for Android software last summer as a crowdsourcing program. The company had been closing working with the Sony community to explore new ideas.

Sony Xperia X users can download the “Concept Installer” app from Google Play Store and simply follow the steps to setup the software. The company says that the concept will give a sneak-peek into some of the latest features that will be available in future Xperia products. Users who download the concept software can choose to receive software updates once a month or choose an experimental track that will give updates once a week, via the InTouch application settings.

Sony states in a blog post that the new software concept includes:

A sneak-peek at some of the latest features that will be part of future Xperia products

Android 7.0, Nougat, which includes new native features such as multi-window support and improved notifications

Access to Sony’s inTouch community, providing direct access to our software engineers and a chance to influence development & coming releases

The update will also mean the end of concept releases for the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact as they will not be updating to Android Nougat.
