11 November 2016 0

Google upgraded Play Newsstand with the latest Material design makeover and it looks stunning. The new update brings the version number to 4.0. The new version brings a special “For You” section which will provide users main feed.

Another addition is a new Search bar which is placed on the top by clicking it, trending news, topics, and recommended sources will appear. The Top bar will disappear once the user scrolls the topic.

The older version navigation drawer is also replaced with the new white bottom bar which has four icons. These icons are For You, Library, Read Later and Explore. In earlier version navigation drawer has these section icons. Another portion of new version 4.0 is similar to the older version.Surprisingly, Google didn’t remove access settings and enable download only mode drawer.

The new “For You” feature is replacing the older Read now and it brings user articles of their interest. The suggestions of the article are based on users’ web search history. It is overall quite similar to Google Now cards. The new “Briefing” is actually the top stories which readers need to know and the good thing is user will get the notification every morning based on the overview of the latest news.

Another source for finding user’s interest related topics will be those publications which user visit on regular basis. The card individual stories will name will appear in a big header and it will have three options including Title, publication and Read later option.

What makes Google news app special is its ability to allow user providing personalized content which is pretty much synced with user browsing data. you can download new app by clicking the link below.
