Google launches a bunch of new Daydream VR games and HBO Now VR

09 December 2016 0

Back in November, Google put the Daydream app on its Google Play Store to let the users access the VR content. We have been watching several new apps that can be viewed inside the Google VR View headset using this Daydream app. Some of the apps that showed their early presence are Google Arts & Culture VR apps. Now, Google is launching a new bunch of games for Daydream VR.

Gunjack Shooter -

The first is the Gunjack arcade shooter, which also came out on other VR platforms like Gear VR. However, here in Daydream app, you will find better controls thanks to the Daydream controller. The app costs $12.99.

Layers of Fear -

The next Layers of Fear is a survival horror game with a bit of hidden object mixed in. You look for the clues, move around the environment and while doing this all the weird things starting to happen around you. Layers of Fear costs $10.

Need for Speed VR

It’s a typical need for speed game and was supposed to launch today. The best thing is you drive the car from inside and can look around more easily. The rearview mirror can tell you if the Police cruiser is chasing you. The steering works via motion controller. The same Need for Speed comes with a little spice and you’ll like it definitely but you have to shell out a whopping $20.

Lego Brickheadz

Use your controller to follow the instructions and build LEGO BrickHeadz characters. And the best part is Lego Brickheadz is free.

Underworld Overload

The game costs you $7.99. This also works with the Daydream controller. This feels more like a tech demo than a fully fleshed game.

Wands –

Learn the spells and try out on your opponents. This is a 1-on-1 combat. This costs you $5..99.

HBO Now and Go VR –

This isn’t a game. It’s a streaming-only subscription service version of HBO. The Daydream VR view allows you to sit in a theater environment and watch content on a big screen. HBO Go VR was already available, but it was pulled from the Play Store. It's back today and officially available to HBO subscribers.

Of course, all these apps and games require Daydream View headset and a compatible phone. Right now, we have Pixel, Pixel XL, Moto Z, and Moto Z Force as the Daydream compatible phone.
