16 December 2016 0

Huawei’s Honor brand has finally launched the new Magic smartphone in Shenzhen. Honor Magic has thin frames and holds 2K display profile. The device holds a full curved design and has a 5-inch 2K display. The name "Magic" has been taken for a reason and the credit goes to Artificial Intelligence. The smartphone that has built-in AI knows what you want, what you're doing now, and what your next attempt would be. Shocking? Well, it's here to surprise you indeed. But, before doing a brainstorming, it's important to know what's behind this approach.

Artificial Intelligence is evolving and with the pace, it's heading, we believe, the technology will soon become the breath of the leading industries. To take an instance, Google's deep learning could give you a hint what to expect from Honor Magic. The smartphone is also going to learn your behavior, for instance, how often you open your smartphone, what are most of the tasks you do with your smartphone.

We will talk more about that, but first of all, meet the specifications of Honor Magic. The device doesn't employ the latest SoC fro Huawei, but rather comes wth the Kirin 950 SoC. It has a 5-inch display which has the resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Magic Live software layer. It has the double 3D glass covers are supposed to reflect bright, shining lights.

The deep think functionality provides the information to the user based on the content of the screen by making a long press on the Start menu. There's much more about the device. So, let's dive in.

Honor Magic Specifications -

  • 5-inch screen AMOLED display with 2,560x1,440-pixel resolution
  • 2.3Ghz octa-core Kirin 950 SoC.
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB internal storage
  • 12MP dual-lens camera
  • 8MP front-facing camera

The fingerprint scanner is built into the home button as well. This adds an easy way to unlock the device quickly.

Honor Magic comes with a functionality FaceCode. This uses the infrared sensors to scan your face and thus unlocks the phone. It identifies if the user is the owner, based on that, it displays certain information on the lock screen. The Honor Magic only shows the notification messages when the phone has verified it's you.

Honor Magic also adjusts the brightness to the ambient conditions. The phone’s battery is supposed to be made of a “special graphite molecular structure”. A new charging circuit design helps the device to get up to 40 percent of its battery charge in just 10 minutes and 20 minutes to charge up to 70 percent of its battery charge.

Remember, what Huawei talked about during the Mate 9 launch event? The leading Chinese company talked about their latest EMUI 5.0 customized OS that will work according to user's preferences. The latest EMUI works with machine learning algorithm.

Huawei recently in an interview with AndroidPit even said that the future of their smartphones will be based on the machine learning and with the help of it, they aim to engage themselves at the quality and unique products. Although, we haven't found such traces that could tell Huawei has used the latest EMUI to built their phone around it. Here, Honor has employed the Magic Live software layer which seems to work magically.

The price of the Honor Magic is 499 Euro ($520 USD approx). It has launched in Golden Black Porcelain White colors. We are yet to know if the company make their magical device global.
