The Nokia 6 was recently launched by HMD and will be the first Nokia Android smartphone exclusively available to China. We now have the glimpse at the first hands-on images and a commercial video as well.
A few days ago, it was rumored, thanks to a leaked presentation slide that HMD, the global license custodian to sell Nokia phones, will release new smartphones with Nokia branding in 2017, probably by Q2 2017. However, nothing concrete was seen that could tell more about the probable plans. But, today, HMD Global Oy itself made an announcement on its official website and introduced its first Smartphone – Nokia 6, which according to the company will be exclusive to China.
While making this announcement official, HMD also said that this is just the start from Nokia brand into Android smartphones and more are yet to come in H1 2017. So, whatever we heard, is coming out true; back in November 2016, Nokia also confirmed that it will return to the smartphone business in 2017 and here we are! getting the announcement in the very beginning of the year.
Furthermore, Nokia also confirmed its participation in the coming MWC 2017 event which is going to be held in February. It was believed that Nokia will introduce its first Android phone at MWC, but we are seeing this device ahead of the event. If all go well then we will definitely see at least one Android smartphone from Nokia.
According to HMD, the latest smartphone Nokia 6 "embraces the much loved Nokia phone hallmarks of quality" (true Nokia phones). Nokia’s phones were known for their build quality, they were sturdy and durable to withstand tough handlings. And, here as well, HMD explains that Nokia 6 is indeed a reflection of all those qualities that have given Nokia a recognition in the mobile industry. HMD also stresses on the design of the Nokia 6.
HMD says, “it takes 55 minutes to machine a single Nokia 6 from a solid block of 6000 series aluminum. It then receives two separate anodizing processes, taking over ten hours to complete, with each phone being polished no less than five times. The end result is an aluminum unibody with the highest level of visual and structural quality."
Nokia 6 is powered by Snapdragon 430 processor and runs on Android 7.0 OS, this means it’s a mid-range device but still giving you the power to stay up to date with the whole world. The smartphone also includes Dolby Atmos tech and ‘dual amplifiers for louder sound.’
