Meizu has now started sending out invites for their event set for January 27, 2017. Rumors suggest that the event, is in fact, set for the company's latest smartphone, the Meizu M5S. The device had first appeared back in December when it passed the TENAA certification. Later in the first week of January, the device was spotted on Geekbench as well.
The Meizu M5S is going to sport a 5.2-inch HD LCD display that will be powered by a MediaTek MT6753 chipset with an octa-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz. The device will include 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage. The camera department will include a 13MP snapper on the back accompanied with a 5MP snapper on the front. It will be fueled with a 2,930mAh battery and run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
It would be interesting to see whether the company will bring the device as a successor to the Meizu M5 or just a new midrange smartphone.
