Xiaomi Redmi 1S receiving MIUI global stable ROM update

13 January 2017 1

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S was the first smartphone to be launched under the Redmi series and is about to complete three years since its launch. Since then we have seen many Redmi devices but the good thing is that Xiaomi is still supporting the device as long as software updates are concerned. Xiaomi has now released MIUI global stable ROM update for the Redmi 1S.

The ROM brings the Panic button for making emergency calls which we saw earlier this week when the update was rolled out for the Mi Max. It is the same feature which will allow users to reach their emergency contacts quickly and in less number of steps involved.

The latest MIUI 8 ROM is currently available for download via Xiaomi forum. The recovery and fastboot ROMs are of sizes 742MB and 934MB respectively. You can visit the official thread using the source link below and download your preferred ROM type for the Redmi 1S.

The Xiaomi Hongmi Redmi 1S isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
