Huawei recently launched its latest mid-ranger Honor 6X, a successor to the Honor 5X. It features dual rear camera setup and is a great mid-ranger option for the pricing. This is the reason it has been giving other phones in the segment a good run for their money but what about pitting against upper-tier smartphones. While it's obvious that the Hono 6X can't really beat premium phones, it's a test to see how close it can get to those. And this is the reason, the folks at Phandroid battled the Honor 6X with the iPhone 7 and Honor 8 in the camera department.
It should be noted that even though all these smartphones feature a 12MP primary rear shooter, they all differ in the type of camera sensor used, pixel size, aperture, and other features. This will result in the image quality difference of each of these phones under various lighting conditions.
But before we take you to the complete test, here are a couple of shots for the comparison just between the Honor 6X and iPhone 7. In both of these shots, even though iPhone 7's photo quality is better which is expected as well, it is the performance of Honor 6X's camera which is surprising. You can notice that despite being just a mid-ranger, its photos have come out to be quite close to what iPhone 7 has clicked.
Now, let's take a look at the complete camera comparison featuring Honor 6X, iPhone 7, and Honor 8. Here are shots that were during the daytime but when the sun was starting to set. So even though it was not bright daylight, it was bright enough for taking photos. And the Phandroid team mentions that these photos were taken with lowest possible ISO setting.
