From past few weeks, the Chinese giant smartphone manufacturer Meizu was hinting to unveil a new entry-level smartphone.
Finally, the wait is over as the company unveils M5s today in a special event At Beijing China. The device is unveiled as a successor device to the last year M5. The device is expected to hit the Indian smartphone market as well. The M5s is packed with an all metal unibody
which looks quite premium as opposed to the plastic body of M5. The overall design of the handset is pretty much similar to the Meizu's M5 Note.
As far as hardware specs is a concern, the M5s is featuring an IPS display of 5.2-inches with HD screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. An Octa-core Soc is powering the device and all cores of this SoC are Cortex A53. The Processor is accompanied with 3GB RAM and built-in internal storage is 16GB and 32GB. Both the devices support MicroSD card to expand memory up to 128GB. On the rear side, the camera snapper is the 13MP sensor with PDAF and wide angle aperture of f/2.2. Up front, the camera sensor is of 5MP for video chats and selfies.
The Android Marshmallow 6.0 with company's customized Flyme 6 UI layer is on board as OS. The M5s owners should not expect Nougat based OS in near future. A 3,000mAh battery cell keeps the device lights on and it can be charged pretty fast with 18W charger. According to the company, this device can be charged up to 50% in just 30 minutes. There is a physical home button with the fingerprint scanner which supports WeChat and Alipay services.
Not just that, it also supports Dual Hybrid SIM slots where second sim slot can be either used for Nano SIM or MicroSD card. The Volume controller and power buttons are placed on the right-hand side. It features 3.5mm headphone jack and MicroUSB for connectivity. The Meizu M5s thickest point is 8.4mm and it weighs 143g only. It can be purchased in Gray, Rose Gold, Silver and Gold color options. The base variant with 16GB storage cost 799 Yuan only which is $115 for international buyers whereas the 32GB variant cost 999 Yuan ($145).
The Good thing is Meizu fans will not have to wait longer as the company starts pre-ordering from today with a shipment from Feb 20th. For the other markets, the availability is still in dark. Alongside the M5s, the company unveiled Bluetooth speakers as well at a price tag of 169 Yuan. which survive 15 hours on the single charge and supports latest Bluetooth 4.2 as well. However, the company is offering the discount of 20 Yuan if it is purchased alongside the aforementioned smartphone.
