This year OnePlus flagship is expected to be named as OnePlus 5. The OnePlus 5 will be successor device of OnePlus 3. Yes, what you read is right, OnePlus is going to skip four Aka tetra digit as it is considered as bad luck in China. The latest rumor also indicates the successor device will be released as OnePlus 5.
The latest report from PCPop reveals few hardware specs detail of upcoming OnePlus 5. The company's upcoming flagship will be competing directly against LG's G6, Galaxy S8 and Apple's iPhone 8. The upcoming flagship is expected to have all display front which means the company is going to trim down the top and bottom bezels like Samsung.
Like Samsung, OnePlus is also removing the physical home button which means the fingerprint scanner is going to be placed on the rear side alongside camera modules. However, it will be placed in the center. Although official images of OnePlus 5 are yet in dark but we have a beautiful render image which will give readers a pretty good idea.
In terms of hardware, the company once again would like to pack their flagship with the best possible top of the line hardware. Last year OnePlus 3 was one of the first smartphones in the market with the 6GB of RAM and latest report indicates the upcoming device will have 8 GB of RAM, which is double than recently announced flagships.
The Qualcomm's Octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC will be powering the device with Adreno 540 GPU on board. Finally, OnePlus is expected to shift from traditional Full HD to Quad HD with 1440 x 2560 pixels screen resolution. If this report is accurate then OnePlus 5 will be the first smartphone from the company to have Quad HD display. On the rear side, we have rumors of dual camera setup. The price tag once again expected to remain below $500.
The Chinese flagship killer manufacturer OnePlus is known for brining top of the line hardware. So for sure it won't be surprising to see 8GB RAM on OnePlus 5
