Android 7.1.1 Nougat update will soon hit Moto Z PLay, Motorola confirms

16 April 2017 0

Moto Z Play started receiving Android Nougat in various regions from February onwards. But the US variants of the device didn’t receive the update. But finally, the update reached Verizon devices last month. And today, we got official confirmation from Motorola, that the Moto Z Play will soon receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.

A screenshot of chat between an XDA forums user and a Motorola representative was leaked recently revealing the news regarding the update. In the chat, the user asked when the Moto Z Play is getting Android 7.1.1 update. The Motorola representative replied that the device will receive the update. The representative doesn’t seem to be sure about the exact date.

However, we cannot be sure about this matter as there is a lot of chance for the rep was misinformed. But, even then the company has no reason for holding up further updates for the device. Given below is the screenshot of customer support chat between XDA Forums user and Motorola representative.

There is no reason for the Moto Z Play users to worry regarding the update. Even though the official update fails to reach your device, you still got the option for custom ROMs. This means the device will receive Android 7.1.1 update real soon either through official Motorola update as mentioned earlier or via Custom ROMS.

The Motorola Moto Z Play isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
