Samsung rolling out Nougat to Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and 9.7 in US

19 April 2017 4

A couple of weeks ago, we shared info that Samsung is rolling out Nougat 7.0 update for Galaxy Tab S2 owners in Europe. The good thing is the company now updating the US variants as well.

Both the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Tab S2 9.7 owners in the US are getting the update. The firmware version for the Tab S2 9.7-inches variant is T810XXU2DQCL whereas the firmware version for the 8-inches variant is T710XXU2DQCL. Apart from bringing the latest Nougat, the tab security patch level is also updated to the April 1st, which means the tabs are safe against latest vulnerabilities.

After updating, the Galaxy Tab S2 owners will be enjoying the new multi-window support, new improved notification system, a dedicated button for quick settings as well as memory can be utilized efficiently. Being a major update, it weighs 852MB and as expected, it won't be rolled out to everyone in a single day but instead, it will require few days to reach out everyone.

We will recommend making sure your device has enough memory and also before starting the update, the device should be at least 50% charged. If you don't receive the update notification in next couple of days, you can check out manually as well by going into settings menu > About device and system update.
