Google is testing a new compact weather card

19 April 2017 3

Google is reportedly experimenting with a new version of Weather card, which will be more compact and will display relevant data in single line format with a few bits of relevant information.

Currently, the old card shows an extended 5-day forecast and is pretty big. The new card that the internet giant is testing shows the current conditions and forecast for the current day. Users will be able to tap on the new card and get all that same information and more in the full weather screen if they want. There is no information about when Google will be rolling out the new card for users.

Some users have been able to view the new weather card from today, however, it remains unclear whether the company is planning to make it a default for all users, or is just experimenting with a new look!

Last month, Google had to update its News & Weather app with a More Headlines feature that allows users to search for more news to read. The update allows users to see more news headlines once they are done scrolling through your main Home feed. The app had added over 200 news stories to the Home screen under the section and users can view them by scrolling down on the app.
