Sharp Aquos R now official with 22.6MP camera and Snapdragon 835

19 April 2017 4

The well-known Japanese display manufacturer Sharp just unveiled a new flagship for the first half of the year. As being a flagship, Aquos R brings a number of key selling features. The best thing is it is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. The device is initially announced for the Japanese customers and there are very fewer chances the device will see the light of the day outside of Japan.

The device is featuring a metal unibody design. The Aquos R is packed with 5.3-inches IGZO Quad HD display with screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Like most of the flagships, it supports HDR 10. The device has the physical home button on the front facing side. The volume rockers and the power button are placed on the right edge side. The Octa-core SD 835 is accompanied with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The device comes pre-loaded with latest Android Nougat 7.1 as OS. A 3,160mAh non-removable battery cell is on board to keep its lights on. It can be quickly charged thanks to Quick Charge 3.0 support.

The rear primary snapper is the wide-angle 22.6MP sensor with an aperture of F/1.9 and OIS. Up front, the camera sensor is also a wide-angle 16MP module. The device is IPX8 certified which means it can resist against water and dust. It has USB Type-C on board for connectivity. The Aquos R dimensions are 153 x 74 x 8.7mm.

The device comes pre-loaded with the company's own AI assistant dubbed as EMOP. As an extra accessory, the company is offering ‘ROBOKOKU’ charging dock. As far as pricing is a concern, it is still in dark and the company has yet to announce it but we can't expect it to be pocket-friendly.

We would like to hear our readers thoughts regarding the latest best flagship device from Sharp in the comments section below.
