Go Beyond Reality with the world's first Tango enabled and Daydream-ready device, Asus ZenFone AR

20 April 2017 3

Asus unveiled the ZenFone AR smartphone in January at CES 2017. It is the world’s first Tango-enabled and Daydream-ready device that could provide engaging augmented reality. The device received FCC certification earlier last month, hinting the US launch soon. The company released a hands-on review of the device earlier this week, showcasing the outstanding capabilities of the device.

Asus ZenFone AR sports a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display and it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM. The device is available in multiple storage options including 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. A 23MP sensor from Sony is packed at the rear side of the device including features such as OIS, EIS, and 4K video recording.

As mentioned earlier, the device comes with the Tango sensors, packing a motion tracing camera and depth-sensing camera. Apart from that, an 8MP camera is packed at the front of the device for those stunning selfies. This front camera packs f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide angle lens. Android 7.9 Nougat comes preinstalled with this device, which is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery with a support for a quick charge.

Enough of the stories, let us watch the hands-on review of the device officially done by Asus. The company published the video on YouTube on 18th of this month and already received more than 9000 views.

  • It looks like Asus has decided to give the best to its phone. See, there are four storage options along with OIS, EIS, and to add is the 4K video recording too.

      • The launch in the US hasn't taken place yet? Has the device been launched anywhere by the way, because it was unveiled in January this year and it's now in April. And we are still talking about the US launch.

          • What's soothing to read that Asus has brought out so many options on the storage front. Generally we see three. Here are four - 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
