Without any doubt, the Galaxy S series of Samsung is currently the most successful Android flagship series in the world. Each new Galaxy S flagship attained much hype and grab spotlight of headlines way ahead of its launch and release. Same was the case this year as well when Samsung unveiled Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.
The first Galaxy S smartphone was unveiled back in 2010 and this year the company unveiled the eighth iteration. Like always, the device is well appreciated because of its futuristic design, top-notch camera, and the best possible hardware in all aspect what makes Galaxy S8 lineup one of the best options what customers can expect from an Android flagship smartphone.
Like always, when a new flagship is announced, every is keen to know how the device competes against its direct competitors as well as how the latest device is better than predecessor in terms of performance. So comparisons are must if you want to know each detail of latest flagships and also how they perform against their direct competitors. We already compared Galaxy S8 against a number of latest flagships, let's check out them.
I am sure, one thing which many Samsung fans would like to know is how latest Galaxy S8 performs in front of predecessors. Today we have a speed test of Galaxy S8 against S7, S6 and S5 carried out by Adrianisen on Youtube. In this test, standard flagships of last three years and current-gen S8 are compared in a head to head test.
The test kicked off with the boot timing of all four devices. The Galaxy S8 has over all predecessors as it is featuring the latest chipset. The Galaxy S8 was the first one which boots fast, the second position is achieved by GS7 and as expected GS5 was the last one. After the boot, speed is checked how all devices opened their settings menu and the difference between the UI.
Before Galaxy S8, all Samsung devices has a dedicated icon for the apps menu but that's not the case with Galaxy S8. Now users have to swipe from bottom to up to open up the apps menu. It is important to check out the hardware specs sheet of all four aforementioned Galaxy S flagship smartphones before checking out the speed test video.

I haven't read such types of comparison articles like this one. This is a cool test and the results are pretty much expected. So, I am not really surprised by the outcome.
These types of comparisons are helpful for internal development of a company. We all know how a certain model has progressed from generation to generation.
You're absolutely right. A few days ago I had read a similar kind of comparison between the three models of Xiaomi Mi - 4, 5 and 6. That was also a good read.
