Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 6 smartphone has been quite popular, thanks to the 12MP+12MP dual rear cameras, which is pretty similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. The 5.15-inch display smartphone, which was unveiled last month, was put to a durability test by the popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything. Let’s see how the device performs, shall we?
Firstly, the device was tested for the display. The display of Mi 6 was affected with the level 6 pick, which means that the regular keys and coins in the pocket won’t affect the display of the smartphone. The fingerprint scanner which rests on the bottom of the display is also resistant till level 5 pick. Scratching the earpiece proves that it is made of metal and sits in line with the display, thus stopping from collecting dust.
Now, heading over the back, we see that it too is scratch resistant. The dual rear cameras, which sit underneath the glass, too are scratch resistant along with the dual LED flash.
The metal used on the sides of the device is a premium one as compare to the predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi 5, and does not leave shavings when scratched. Although the device doesn’t have a headphone jack, the device is pretty well a solid one, considering the specs and build.
Finally, when it comes to bend test, the Xiaomi Mi 6 holds up pretty nice and doesn’t break, unlike the Mi 5 from last year. This proves that Xiaomi has indeed improved upon their smartphone ruggedness and overall feel of the device.
