The HTC One M9 is two years old but that won't stop AT&T from rolling out the latest Android Nougat flavor to it. Back in December, the company starts rolling out the update to the unlocked variant of One M9 in the US. In March, T-Mobile was the first carrier which rolled out an update to carrier bound variants, followed by Sprint which updated the device in April. Finally, AT&T is the last one to join the race of rolling out Nougat to One M9.
The new major OS version is being rolled out to firmware version 4.27.502.7. It is updating the devices which are on 3.38.502.41 firmware version. Surprisingly, the update doesn't bring the latest security patch but instead, it brings the security patch level to February 1st. Another important thing is Android 7.0 is not the latest version and currently, only 0.5% Android users are on the latest Nougat 7.1.
Today, the tech giant Google will be revealing more details at their annual I/O 2017 event. Stay tuned, we will be covering it.
