'Find My Device' is the new name for Android Device Manager - Gets UI Updated

17 May 2017 0

Just a while ago Google released an update to Device Manager application and renamed it to ‘Find My Device’ in addition to other user interface improvements. The updated app is on Google Play and could be downloaded easily.

The Google Play listing puts down the following description saying:

“Introducing Find My Device - the new and improved Android Device Manager. Find My Device helps you easily locate a lost Android device, and keeps your information safe and sound while you look.”

The app lets the users locate their smartphones, watch or tablets in case they get misplaced. In addition to this, users could make the smartphone play a certain sound to keep track of it if it's somewhere close. Also, for added security, users could opt to lock their phone, erase all the data within it or simply show a message remotely to another person who could then help locate it.

In an all, the enhanced UI makes the app much better than the previous iteration. Have you ever used ‘Find My Device’ app before? Do let us know in the comment section down below.
