TomTom has recently released its new addition to tracking fitness related activities alongside its wearables, the TomTom sports app. The company has just released a new update to the app which allows the users to import data from Google Fit and Apple Health services, thus making it more convenient for you to keep a note of your daily activity even when your TomTom wearable is not with you at the moment.
The update allows anyone on any of the two major mobile OS platform, Android and iOS to import their daily activity data. This includes steps, active time, distance and calories. With the updated app you can set goals for the day and receive credit for the smallest activity you do without the TomTom fitness band which seamlessly syncs with your daily data from any of the platforms.
If it happens that you are wearing the fitness band and are carrying your iOS or Android device that is syncing their respective health app data to TomTom, the current activity data will not be duplicated on your TomTom app.
Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and managing director of TomTom Consumer said the following.
This is a great new development for anyone interested in getting more from tracking their activities. We know that people use different apps to track their activities and fitness level. Now they can have all of their data in one place – the TomTom Sports app - and continue to track should they forget their TomTom device at home. Anyone considering to buy a fitness tracker can now try out the TomTom Sports app for free first. We’re delighted to be making the motivation of the TomTom Sports app available to more people and can’t wait to see them get going!
