UPDATE (May 19, 2017)
Nubia’s upcoming Z17 smartphone has been quite a while in discussions now, as recently we saw the company’s short video confirming the IP67 certification of the device. However, there has been a new leak now that shows the actual press renders of the Nubia Z17.
The device looks beautiful in a blue color body with a red ring around the home button up front below the display. Although we can’t see the camera details, we can see that the fingerprint scanner is located on the back of the device.
There have been a number of rumors and leaks about the upcoming Nubia Z17 smartphone. Today, a video of the upcoming Nubia Z17 has been uploaded to the Weibo social network that shows that the device will have IP67 certification. This would in fact be the first nubia Z-series to have IP67 certification for water and dust resistance.
The video lasts for about 15-seconds. The video shows Nubia Z17 smartphone soaking inside the water. The smartphone has the customary red circle for a home button. After a few seconds, a hand moves the phone to show that there are no air bubbles that are coming out of the device.
Till now, there is no Nubia device that comes with IP67 certification. So we are quite sure this isn’t an old device.
The short video also reveals the nubia Z17 will come with a bezel-less design just like its predecessor, the nubia Z11. As regards rest of the specifications, the smartphone will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display. The device will be powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core processor coupled with 6GB of RAM while some of the leaks have suggested a version with 8GB RAM too. The internal storage will be 64GB which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. On the software, the smartphone will run on Android Nougat 7.1.1.
On the camera front, the smartphone will have a 23MP primary shooter and a 16MP front-facing shooter. The smartphone recently appeared on TENAA showing the horizontal dual rear cameras. The entire device will be backed by a 3100mAh battery capacity.
The nubia Z17 will not have a physical home button. Rather it will feature a red circle at top of the screen pointing towards a virtual home button. There will be a fingerprint scanner too just below the camera sensor. The device might be available in Blue and Gold color variant as per the previous reports.
