Motorola Moto Z2 Play is in leaks and rumors for quite some time. The device recently appeared at TENAA certification which confirms the device will have 2,820mAh battery cell. However today the Lenovo official Twitter account confirms that Z2 Play will have a slightly large battery cell of 3,000mAh, Still it is way smaller than predecessor which features 3,510mAh battery.
A couple of days ago official Twitter handler confirms Z2 Play is featuring non-removable 3,000mAH Li-Ion battery cell. It is quite surprising to see official handler Auxen replying the question if Z2 Play has small battery cell, it will be a mistake from Lenovo. The alleged Moto Z2 Play appears at TENAA last week with 2,820mAh battery.
@AnbhuleAnant Hi Anant. Moto Z2 Play has Non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery. Auxen_Lenovo— Lenovo (@lenovo) May 20, 2017
The battery cell on the Z2 Play could have 3,000mAh rated capacity whereas the actual capacity of the cell might be 2,820mAh only. Another important aspect is Moto Z2 Play is expected with a slim profile. The original Moto Z Play device was only 7mm thick and upcoming Z2 Play is expected to be thinner at just 5.9mm. For sure reducing the slimness results into the small battery cell.
The Qualcomm's mid-ranger Snapdragon 626 SoC at a clocking speed of 2.2Ghz will be powering the device and also it is rated as one of the best power efficient mid-ranger chipset available in the market. The TENAA listing reveals other hardware specs as well. As per listing, the Z2 Play display is of 5.5-inches with Full HD screen resolution.
The SD 626 is accompanied with 4GB RAM and built-in internal storage is 64GB. The rear primary snapper is 12MP while the front-facing snapper is of 5MP. The good thing is both rear and front facing sensor is accompanied with LED flashlight. The Android Nougat 7.1.1 is on board as OS. Moto already confirmed that Z2 Play will also be supporting Moto Mods of predecessor Moto Z Play. The Moto Z2 Play launch is expected on June 8th.
