To start off with the design aspect, each of these four smartphones offers a different product design which makes them stand out from each other instantly. But they also differ slightly in terms of materials used for the manufacturing. You will get a full metal body with the Moto Z2 Play and Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom but with Sony Xperia XA1 and Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017), you will get metal/plastic and metal/glass combo respectively. Even though Sony has gone for plastic for some parts, the phone still looks as premium as rest of the phones.
In terms of performance and technical specifications, Moto Z2 Play and ZenFone 3 Zoom are the phones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 and 625 processors respectively but the Galaxy A7 (2017) and Xperia XA1 come with Exynos 7880 and MediaTek Helio P20 chipsets respectively. Each of these is an octa-core processor but differ in the clock speed and type of cores being used. As for RAM, ZenFone 3 Zoom comes in two variants with 3GB and 4GB RAM option. While Moto Z2 Play comes with only 4GB of RAM, the other two phones come with 3GB of RAM.
For camera lovers out there, ZenFone 3 Zoom's name is explaining the story that it is a phone aimed at smartphone photography and is the only smartphone in the list with optical image stabilization (OIS). Other devices have a good camera as well with their own unique set of features and modes to help users click best possible shots.
Now coming to the battery, Asus' ZenFone 3 Zoom offers the biggest battery with 5000mAh battery capacity while the Xperia XA1 has the lowest at 2300mAh. As for software, Moto Z2 Play and ZenFone 3 Zoom are the only two phones to ship with Android Nougat while others are still stuck at Marshmallow.
