LG has launched a new phone under its mid-range ‘Q’ series called LG Q8. The phone is a smaller version of the LG V20 which was launched last year and comes with a secondary display on top of the phone. The LG Q8 was unveiled for the European market last week and has now received a second unveiling for the Asian markets.

The LG Q8 comes with an IP67 certification rating and can be submerged in 3-feet of water for up to 30-minutes. It has a 5.2-inch display with 1440 x 2560 QHD pixels resolution. It has a secondary display, which provides a shortcut to contacts and apps. Under the hood, the phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The phone has 2TB expandable storage via a microSD card slot. The Q8 is backed by a 3000mAh battery and supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0. The phone comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner and runs on Android Nougat OS.

The LG Q8 has a dual-rear camera with 16 MP sensor and a 78-degree angle view, and a second 8 MP camera with a 135-degree ultra-wide angle lens. The phone has a 5 MP front camera with a 120-degree wide angle view. The LG Q8 will be available in Urban Titan and Sweet Pink colors.

"The LG Q8 is a welcome member to our newest Q line of smartphones that addresses the needs of customers who want the best content creation device without paying for extra features they don’t want or need. The Q8 gets much of its DNA from past V devices but is designed for one-handed use and ease of portability."-Juno Cho, president, LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
