Next month, LG will be releasing the flagship LG V30 with the “floating bar” feature. However, now, a team of independent developers has figured out a way to make the second screen on the last year’s LG V20 more useful. The V20’s second screen can now show third-party widgets on rooted and non-rooted, stock-based or AOSP-based devices.
The patch will be released later this week that’ll help the users access a list of custom features, not only within the stock software but also custom widgets. Users will be able to view notifications, settings, clock, and music player widgets. A developer named USA-RedDragon also plans to launch a few premium widgets including an RSS ticker feed, customizable buttons for some specific apps, and even a device charging statistic widget.
The post by XDA also mentions that the secondary display of the LG V20 isn’t actually a secondary display – it’s just a part of one whole thing. Well, the app has now been posted on the Play Store as an “unreleased” one, which means that it might be unstable. If you do want to check it out, follow the link below.
