Low-end Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) to get Bixby Home

24 August 2017 0

Just a couple of days ago we saw the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) on TENAA (Chinese equivalent to FCC) having an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1200 x 800 pixels. While we got full spec release for the device on TENAA, nowhere we saw any dedicated Bixby button and jumped to conclusions that it will not be included. The tablet from Samsung will remain a lower-end one which means that it will fall into the affordable section.

It turns out that Bixby will be present on the device but with some limitations. Samsung has released the user manual for the device (source) and it shows Bixby Home as Bixby's only functionality on the device. This means Bixby Voice will not be present on the device.

The manual also tells that there will be a cellular (4G) version of the tablet. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is powered by a quad-core processor at 1.4Ghz clocking speed. The chipset is accompanied with 3GB RAM with 64GB built-in storage. On the rear side, the primary snapper is 8MP whereas the front facing selfie capturer is the 5MP module. The device comes with Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box. A non-removable 5,000mAh battery juices the device up.

The device is expected to release at IFA 2017 on August 31 where Samsung is also going to release Gear Sport smartwatch.
