Nothing can be more annoying if something is promised and not delivered. Such conditions are more frustrating when a company promises to deliver something to its customers but unable to make it. Something similar seems to have happened with the Moto G4 customers who were promised to receive the Android Oreo update. Well, at least now, the actions of the company are stating us so.
Moto G4 will receive the Android O and this was stated by the company on many occasions. For instance, an infographic showed that the device will receive the Android O. And, now this piece of information has been removed. Well, Motorola should have understood that such quite move would receive its loud consequences. The information seems to have been removed as if no one will notice it. You can see the screenshot of that infographic from below -
You can go to Amazon India’s landing page and see the same infographic with the removed information. There are many more traces that reflect Motorola did promise to update the Moto G4 to Android O. But, not finding the name of the device in the list of Motorola devices receiving the Android O is daunting for the users.
Another trace where Motorola seems to have promised the update is a Spanish brochure that came in the phone’s box in Columbia, that writes, "La version Moto Pure de Moto G recibe actualización a las versiones del sistema operativo Android N y O..."
Also, upon asking on Twitter about the Android O update for the Moto G4 Play, Motorola India replied that the device will receive the update, but this tweet was later removed as well.
It should be noted that even if O hadn’t been promised, the G4 is well under two years old and it must receive the update
