Meizu M lineup smartphones are known for their mid-range specs sheet and affordable price tag. Today the company wraps off the cover from the sixth-gen of their M lineup devices.
Meizu announces the device with a tagline “Back to Basic.” Well, the specs sheet and pricing clearly indicate in case your device broke you better replace than fixing.
From the look of the things, it seems like Meizu paid special attention to the device design that’s why it looks much better than its predecessor. Although it looks like a unibody metal design instead it’s a polycarbonate body.
Meizu claimed they used NCVM tech to make sure polycarbonate give metallic look. Meizu updated the front-facing design. The good thing is few variants have white front panel whereas predecessor was available with black front only.
As far as specs are a concern the M6 is featuring a 5.2-inches display with HD screen resolution. An unknown Octa-core SoC is powering the device at 1.5Ghz clocking speed. Like most of the Chinese smartphones, it will be available in two configurations based on native storage and RAM. The base variant has 2GB RAM with 16GB memory whereas the top tier model has 3GB RAM with 32GB storage.
It supports hybrid dual SIM cards which means either you can enhance memory up to 128GB using MicroSD card or you can use second SIM card.
Meizu upgraded the front-facing camera sensor to 8MP with f/2.0 aperture which was 5MP on the predecessor. The rear camera sensor remains 13MP. To enhance the camera HDR capturing capability Meizu once again join hands with ArcSoft.
The fingerprint scanner is embedded below the home button and according to the company, it will unlock the device within 0.2 seconds.
The 3.5mm headphone jack is on the top edge whereas the micro USB port is on the bottom edge. It is pre-installed with Android Nougat straight out of the box with the company’s custom Flyme 6 layer over it. A non-removable 3,070mAh battery cell is on board to keep its lights on.
The Meizu M6 is released in three color variants including gold, black, silver and blue. The 2GB RAM variant will be available for ¥699 ($106 at current currency exchange rate). The 3GB RAM variant can be grabbed for ¥899. At the end, we would like to hear our readers thoughts regarding the Meizu M6 in the comments section below.
