The race among smartphone companies to bring Android Oreo 8.0 to their devices is in full swing. OnePlus has announced that at least three of its devices will receive the update. And to that end, beta testing has already begun, although no time frame has been specified for when the update will be available publicly.
OnePlus 3 and 3T devices have already received Oreo beta updates. But that's not the case with the OnePlus 5 so far. Users enrolled in the OnePlus beta program don't yet have an update for Oreo. That's going to change though, as a OnePlus 5 running Oreo was recently spotted on GFXBench.
The GFXBench entry shows that OnePlus has probably decided to test the beta for the OnePlus 5 in-house. This means that the update should be available for beta testers very soon.
As for the public OxygenOS releases based on Android 8.0 Oreo, there's no fixed timeline yet, but we know that all major OnePlus devices will get the public release before end of this year.

The OP 5 users will directly get the Android Oero. I feel jealous
No reason really for that... even the OP 3 and 3T are getting the beta updates of Oreo. So, even the older versions will get Android 8.
Oh yes, I forgot that there are OS updates too. It totally slipped out of my mind.
