No Nokia 8 for the US customers, HMD officially confirms

12 October 2017 4

Today we have an unfortunate news for the Nokia 8 fans in the US that HMD global officially confirms they won't be announcing Nokia 8 for the US customers. The reason behind not releasing it is the device isn't meant for the US market. However, the company gives hope by confirming they are planning separate portfolio of devices for the US market. Few devices of this portfolio will be announced in the first quarter of the next year. The company official stated

To a disappointment, we will not be launching the Nokia 8 in the USA. The Nokia 8 is not properly banded for the US to ensure our pledge of 110% consumer satisfaction. I apologize for the disappointing information, but please stay tuned for future US based devices, as we are developing the portfolio.

The device is currently available in the European region at a pricing of €550-€600. This is the very competitive price for premium flagships in the market. The Nokia 8 is powerful enough to challenge existing big players, let's have a look at how well it competes against top tiers smartphones in the market.

The Nokia 8 is available at Amazon for $ 347. The price/quality is good and this is the best device in this price range. To see others 3 offers click here.

  • I am feeling more shocked than unfortunate over this decision. I never expected Nokia/HMD Glogal to take this step. They should still bring the phone in the US market for competition purpose.

      • Yeah, from the psychological point of view I agree. It should be the mentality of the people as well as other companies too, that Nokia 8 is there in the US.

        • This is indeed a very unfortunate news, because I too was expecting the phone to hit the US. The phone isn't for the US market doesn't seem to be a logical reason.
