Facebook recently updated their mobile app in Apple App Store. It packs several bug fixes and performance boosts. But that is not everything. The app apparently integrates with iOS 11's Screen Recording feature. The feature is currently disabled by Facebook without providing any confirmation about future activation.
Details about the feature were tweeted by Abhijeet Gupta @iAbhijeetGupta yesterday. Updating Facebook app to latest build 156.0 adds it as an option in screen recording feature in iOS 11's Control with 3D Touch. As you can see from the screenshots, the feature is disabled by Facebook at the back-end.
Since when Facebook has got access to screen recording. That’s creepy. @mattbirchler @9to5mac @JeffBenjam @iDownloadBlog @SebastienPage @MacRumors pic.twitter.com/rWT2wkHAzJ

Selecting Facebook from the option and pressing “start Broadcast” shows an error message, saying that “Live Broadcast to Facebook has stopped due to (null)”. This means that the feature is not yet enabled by the company. They only added the app to list.
Apple's developer documentation says that third-party apps can use their official APIs to implement screen broadcasting. The latest Facebook update also do something similar. They utilize the API to enable direct streaming of iPhone's screen recordings to their website.

Is the function of the app anything like DU Recorder that I use on my Android?
Well, this is at least okay to see the app added in the list. I'm sure some technicalities are stopping the app from functioning for what it's intended.
