Apple has announced the expansion of its Apple Music student membership to 82 new markets. The complete list of these new markets is unknown but it is now said to be available in markets like Israel, Malaysia, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, and Taiwan. It should be noted that whole 79 of these new markets have already received the membership, the remaining ones will receive the same on February 26th.
As part of the student membership, Apple offers its paid Apple Music subscription to students at a relatively affordable price. The student subscription plan is almost half of the standard plan and varies from region to region. For example, it costs only $4.99 per month in the United States as compared to $9.99 per month for the standard membership. It is worth mentioning that Apple makes use of UNiDAYS to verify the authenticity of the user applying for student membership. Once approved, the plan is valid for a period of 48 months which is equivalent to a four-year degree.
Apple Music is one of the most popular music streaming services and is the closest rival to the market leader Spotify. While Spotify had a huge heads up in the competition, Apple would be happy to know that its growth rate has been faster than Spotify in the United States in recent times.
