Apple has released the fourth beta version of watchOS 4.3 aimed at developers. This new version brings a number of new features which make it more convenient to use Apple Watch without having to rely on iPhone. It simply makes Apple Watch more capable of working stand-alone.
The first major change included in the latest beta is support for Nightstand mode even during portrait orientation. It was previously restricted only to landscape mode. This means you are not bound to place your Apple Watch in a particular position to make use of Nightstand mode. It will work in either orientation without any issues.
Apple has further made it possible for users to control their iPhone music playback using Apple Watch. It is a feature which many users were requesting for some time and all of them will surely be pleased. Earlier, it used to offer music playback controls only for that music which was playing in the watch itself.
Other noteworthy changes included in the latest watchOS developer beta are new charging animation when the watch is placed on the connected charging dock. It further has new app loading animations and Siri watch face is now capable of showing Activity data at a glance.
For those of you interested in trying out the new version, simply visit Apple Developer Center to install the right configuration profile. Once it is done, visit the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and look for the software update. It should show you the latest version as the update which you can then download and install on your Apple Watch.
