Apple Clips and GarageBand apps pick updates with nifty additions

28 March 2018 3

Apart from announcing the new 9.7-inch iPad at yesterday's Chicago even, Apple released new updates to its Clips and GarageBand apps for iOS devices. The new updates do not bring any major changes but add a bunch of nifty additions which might be appreciated by users.

Starting with the Clips app, the new update bumps it to version 2.0.3. It primarily adds four new Live Tiles styles with new fonts, colors, and layouts. It further brings four new animated labels, nine new animated stickers, and eleven new Apple-designed posters. If you own an iPhone X, you will also get two exclusive Selfie Scenes inspired by Pixar movies. These are reef from Finding Dory and the Scale Floor from Monsters, Inc. Other than these, there are bug fixes and under the hood performance improvements.

As for the GarageBand app, Apple has added support for TrueDepth camera module in the app. It means users can now use their facial expressions to control various effects like wah and synth parameters. It also adds a new downloadable Toy Box sound pack and a Modern Wah guitar stompbox effect. The update bumps the version number to 2.3.3.
