Apple's USB-C to headphone jack dongle now also comes for new iPad Pros

31 October 2018 2

Apple unveiled new iPad Pro models at a special event held in New York. While the new models get new looks and better upgrades, they lack one basic thing which is the headphone jack. Well, it isn’t the first time Apple has done so, the same was removed from its iPhone lineup too.

So, now to make use of your headphones you would need to have the USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack dongle which unfortunately comes at a price.

The accessory doesn’t come inside the box of your new product so you have to spend a bit extra to purchase this dongle and get your work done.

The same was also removed from the iPhone boxes and now the case with the new iPad Pros is no different. There are wireless headphones available as well but then you would need to spend much more on this new audio accessory. Those who wish to continue using the wired headphones can buy the USB-C to headphone jack dongle which is priced at just $9.

In addition to the new headphone dongle, Apple also introduced two other USB-C related accessories. The first is a 1-meter charge cable that connects to the included 18W charger and costs $19, and the second is a USB-C to SD Card Reader dongle valued at $39 that allows people to edit files directly from SD cards, without the need of transferring them over to the tablet. The former will help you to charge your iPhone if it doesn’t have much juice left with it and you don’t have any back up for the same.

By making the USB-C to headphone jack dongle available, Apple is again making things easier for those who would like to go the old way. Keeping the original 3.5mm jack would have looked a lot better in the first place.
