Apple not only has an official Apple Music app for Android users but also has a beta program. This suggests that even though Android is its arch-rival, it is still quite serious about using the platform for its benefits. Another reason to believe the same is the latest Apple Music beta update which brings support for Android tablets.
The new Apple Music beta bears the version number 2.7 and can be downloaded via the Play Store if you are a beta tester. The update ensures that the app takes full advantage of the bigger real estate available on tablets. It now features a bottom navigation bar instead of the hamburger icon used previously.
Other than this, the update includes the usual affair of bug fixes and under the hood performance improvements. Here is the official changelog for the latest beta version:
- Tablet Support: Enjoy Apple Music with an experience designed for a wider range of Android devices.
- Performance improvements for images and audio playback.
- Various bug fixes.
As mentioned in the beginning, it is a beta update which means you will not see the tablet support unless you are a beta tester. You can send a request to become a beta tester but even then, you will have to wait until your request is accepted.
