Apple acquired the popular sleep tracking hardware company Beddit last year in May. And, now the fruits of this acquisition have appeared as Apple announced the Beddit Sleep Monitor 3.5 accessory.
The Beddit Sleep Monitor is a thin strip that can be attached to a bed. It automatically tracks your sleep and provides statistics to improve your sleep quality. The smart device offers the statistics using the Beddit app on iPhone and Apple Watch. The Sleep Monitor from Apple is just 2mm in thickness and according to the company’s claims, the device can track sleep time, heart rate, breathing, snoring, and bedroom temperature as well along with the humidity.
The Beddit Sleep Monitor accessory works on any size mattress with one or two people in the bed. It also syncs to the iPhone’s Health app, but requires iOS 12 or later.
Apple has been emphasizing on health and wellness things for years now. You will either see new products in this segment or improvements to the existing wearables with the help of new features. For instance, the recent update enabled the ECG support in the Apple Watch Series 4.
The wearable bears the price tag of $149.99 and is available in the Apple Store across the US. It’s currently available only in the English language.
