Apple 03 Dec
Cupertino tech giant Apple has recently been pushing ad notifications to iOS users to promote its very own apps and services and a recent one is the ability to gift Apple Music subscribers a month of free access. If you’re interested, you can check out for a promo referral code that you’d have received in your notifications. This could be shared with your social circle that is not yet part of Apple Music service, giving them a month of free subscription on top of the 3-month trial period.
Tapping on the notification that you’d have received in this regard, you would be directed to a page where you could send a text message with a free-access link to your friends or family. Currently, it's not yet sure if this offer has been sent to Apple Music subscribers all over the world or it was limited to a specific region.
This could also be sent to those Apple Music subscribers who have already used their 3-month of the trial period to get an extension of 1 month more, luring them in to make up their mind and getting used to the service, helping Apple to gain more paying subscribers. While some could see this in a lighter note, many Apple users don’t see such notifications in a good light and consider them a violation of Apple Store guidelines which clearly mentions that notifications shouldn’t be used as a direct mean of advertisement or promotion.
