Apple’s music streaming service Apple Music has over 40 million downloads on Android devices, according to a report shared by Sensor Tower. Apple’s popular music streaming service has seen more than 40 million installs on Android devices from the Google Play Store.
The report states that Apple Music will see a further 3.8 million installs in Android devices by the end of Q1 of 2019. This will be an increase from the 3.3 million installs recorded in Q4 of 2018. Apple Music saw a 65% year-over-year increase in user base.
Apple Music had seen a decline from 3.3 million to 2.3 million installs from Q4, 2017 to Q2, 2018. However, now the service has seen a massive increase in Android installs. The current quarter is speculated to be the best yet for installs on Android according to report.
The United States accounts for approximately 28% of all Apple Music for Android installs to date. India is on the second spot with 7% of the users, followed by Great Britain, Brazil, and Russia with 6%, 5%, and 4% of installs, respectively.
Apple Music made its debut on Android in the fall of 2015, which was just a few months after it was initially made available on Apple devices.
The report states, ‘New users of the app in 4Q18 were up 43 percent over 1Q18, and we project that 1Q19 installs will total 3.8 million for a year-over-year increase of 65 percent. Google Play users in the United States account for approximately 28 percent of all Apple Music for Android installs to date, with India a distant second at about 7 percent to the total. Great Britain, Brazil, and Russia round out the app’s five largest markets at 6 percent, 5 percent, and 4 percent of installs, respectively’.
