Apple iPhone XR receives significant price drop in India, starts Rs. 59,900

04 April 2019 2

Apple has announced a significant price drop for the iPhone XR in India for a limited period of time. The price drop is up to 22% depending on the particular configuration variant. In addition to reduced pricing, there is an additional 10% discount for HDFC debit and credit card users.

The iPhone XR 64GB variant is now priced at Rs. 59,900 instead of the launch price Rs. 76,900. The 128GB variant can be purchased for Rs. 64,900 instead of Rs. 81,900. Lastly, the 256GB model is listed for Rs. 74,900 instead of Rs. 91,900. In other words, the already 'affordable' iPhone just became a lot more affordable.

It should be noted that Apple has not made any changes to the MRP of iPhone XR. These new discounted prices are for a short time period depending for how long the stocks will last. While these prices are said to be effective from April 5th, online stores like Amazon India and Flipkart have already started to sell iPhone XR at the new pricing.

This is the first time that Apple has slashed the price of its latest iPhone lineup. It will allow iPhone fans to buy a new model instead of settling for an old one. It also shows that Apple has decided to do something about the stiff competition it is facing in Indian premium smartphone segment. It is currently ranked third behind Samsung and OnePlus in the latest rankings.
