Apple is continuing with its usual track record of releasing a new developer beta after about two weeks. It has released iOS 13, iPadOS 13, and tvOS 13 developer beta 5 exactly after two weeks since the fourth beta. This suggests that the development work is going through the right track for the stable release this fall.
As per those who have tried the latest beta builds, Apple seems to have only focused on performance improvements and bug fixes. There are no major changes or any new features to talk about. In other words, it is same as the previous beta builds but with improved performance and fewer bugs than before.
Here are the build numbers for each of the operating systems:
- iOS 13 developer beta 5 with 17A5547d build number
- iPadOS 13 developer beta 5 with 17A5547d build number
- tvOS 13 developer beta 5 with 17D5540d build number
iOS and iPadOS share the same build numbers as they are basically the same operating system. The latest betas are available for download via Apple Developer Center. Those who are already using a beta build, they will receive beta 5 as an over the air update. It should be noted that these betas are meant for those who have an Apple developer account. For non-account holders, Apple releases public betas which arrive after the release of developer betas.
