Apple at its Special Event at Steve Jobs Theater located in Cupertino, California announced the new iPhone models. These are the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Unlike the last time, the newly-launched models don't have Roman names. This is the simple '11' number and it creates less confusion among the users. All the new models are powered by the Apple A13 Bionic chip and run the iOS 13.

Apple A13 Bionic chip

While announcing the new iPhone models, Apple briefly introduced the A13 Bionic chip rather than going deeper into it like the past times. Apple claims it to be the fastest chip ever in a smartphone. It is up to 20 percent faster CPU and GPU than the last year’s Apple A12. It includes Neural Engine which is responsible for many tasks, including the real-time image processing and optimization. The new ML Accelerators allow the CPU to deliver more than 1 trillion operations per second. Apple claims together, A13 Bionic and iOS 13 make up the best machine learning platform in a smartphone.

Apple iPhone 11

The iPhone 11 is the successor to the iPhone XR and the iPhone 11 Pro that comes in two sizes. Before announcing the new iPhone 11 model, Apple CEO Tim Cook first talked about the success of the iPhone XR, the device was the highest selling iPhone of Apple.

The Apple iPhone XR comes with a dual rear cameras setup. And, yes the wide-wide display notch is still there for you to criticize a bit. The notch is identical to the last year too, with the Face ID camera, but faster this time. According to Apple, it has an enhanced Face ID that speeds up the face-scanning feature. As shown in the beautiful promo video, the new iPhone 11 is even rated to IP68 water resistance up to 2 meters.

As rumored, the iPhone 11 has an LCD with 6.1-inch screen size. Apple is adding new color options, with purple, white, green, yellow, black, and red all available.

The biggest changes on the camera side of things include a 12MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera that supports 2x optical zoom. For the first time, the front camera which is 12MP gets the slow-motion capability. So as Apple says, you can take as many slofies as you want.

The iPhone 11 is powered the new Apple A13 Bionic processor and it’s the “fastest CPU ever in a smartphone.” According to Apple, the processor even has the fastest GPU.

Another biggest upgrade is the addition of the Night Mode to better compete with the likes of Google’s Pixel devices and not to become the part of the mock in billboard ads. According to Apple, the new Night mode uses adaptive bracketing to improve shots taken at night. Apple claims the new iPhone 11 offers an additional hour of battery life over the iPhone XR.

Apple iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max

Apple has launched the iPhone 11 Pro in two sizes - 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch and Super Retina XDR display. Apple claims Super Retina XDR is the brightest and most advanced display in iPhone which offers immersive HDR viewing experience when you're watching your favorite movies. They both have textured matte glass back and polished stainless steel band. These models are also rated IP68 for water resistance up to 4 meters for up to 30 minutes,

The 5.8-inch model is iPhone 11 Pro and the 6.5-inch model is iPhone 11 Pro Max. Apple claims the new iPhones are jampacked with advanced features and technologies, starting with the Apple A13 Bionic chip that unlocks several new possibilities.

The main highlights of these two new iPhone models include new stunning displays, longer battery life, Apple A13 Bionic chip, and triple cameras which the company likes to call the cutting edge camera system. The new models run the latest iOS 13 which has a suite of new features.

To start with, the new iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max have triple rear cameras, one of the biggest changes from the last year. The camera configuration includes a 12MP wide camera with f/1.8 aperture, 12MP Telephoto lens with 52mm focal length larger f/2.0 and OIS, and the last is 12MP ultra-wide camera with 13mm f/2.4 aperture and 120-degree field of view. Each camera in the triple-camera system records brilliant 4K video with extended dynamic range and cinematic video stabilization.

The triple camera system gives you the ability to Wide and Telephoto framing. Also, thanks to the Deep Fusion which is the new image processing system enabled by the Neural Engine of A13 Bionic, the clicked pictures are optimized better. There is now a new camera interface to complement the new triple rear cameras.

Apple claims iPhone 11 lasts 4 hours longer than the iPhone XS and the iPhone 11 Pro lasts 5 hours longer than the XS Max.

On the front, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max have TrueDepth camera that uses a new 12MP sensor with a wider field of view to capture selfies.
